Freelance Pod

London Podcast Festival 2019

We’re living through a time of huge change, and Freelance Pod is all about how the internet has revolutionised work. Each episode, creative guests from the worlds of journalism, social media, TV – even graffiti – tell host, freelance journalist Suchandrika Chakrabarti, how they’ve navigated the move from analogue to digital.

Past guests include Twitter’s Director of Curation, a producer on Ed Miliband’s podcast Reasons to be Cheerful and some guy called Charlie Brooker who makes a Netflix show.

Suchandrika will be joined for this live recording by Abdulwahab Tahhan, a stand-up comedian, journalist and university lecturer. Abdul is a refugee from Syria, and has been in the UK for six years. He’s now developing a podcast featuring refugees telling their own stories of settling into life in the UK – and it’s funny.

Suchandrika Chakrabarti is a freelance journalist, who made the Black Mirror Cracked podcast in 2018 while working at the Daily Mirror.

Date & start time:Sat 7 Sep – 2pm
