Larry Finlay, former Managing Director of Transworld; Miriam Farbey, Publisher at Scholastic Children’s Books; and Curtis Brown literary agent Stephanie Thwaites, founder of the Jewish Publishing Circle, will share their insider knowledge. Gain invaluable tips, strategies, and industry secrets to help bring your book to life, with plenty of time for audience questions. Whether you’re an aspiring author or simply curious about publishing, this session promises practical advice and engaging insights.

Larry Finlay worked at Transworld Publishers (a Division of Penguin Random House since 2013) for more than 40 years, and was its Managing Director for 23 years. Among the authors he published are Bill Bryson, Richard Dawkins, Stephen Hawking and Prince Harry in non-fiction, and many of the UK’s biggest-selling novelists, including Kate Atkinson, John Boyne, Dan Brown, Lee Child, Catherine Cookson, Jilly Cooper, Ben Elton, Frederick Forsyth, Paula Hawkins, Joseph Heller, Bonnie Garmus, Sophie Kinsella, Shari Lapena, Ruth Jones, Terry Pratchett and Markus Zusak. He’s a passionate reader and keen to share his knowledge with aspiring authors who’d like to see their work in print.
Miriam Farbey works for Scholastic children’s books in New York as a Publisher and with a broad role on international strategy. She was previously Global Publisher of Dorling Kindersley (DK Publishing) and Managing Director of DK’s Children’s Division.
Steph Thwaites is the Head of the Book Department and Literary Agent at Curtis Brown where she has worked for more than 20 years. She represents a wide range of authors from debuts to established brands and bestsellers.

£10 ‘Under 30s’ tickets
A limited number of £10 tickets for attendees aged under 30 are available for certain shows. To purchase an ‘Under 30s’ ticket, please choose the ‘Under 30s’ price type when selecting your ticket(s). If the option does not appear, this means all ‘Under 30s’ tickets have sold out or are not available for this performance. Please note that proof of age may be requested at the venue. The £10 offer does not apply to premium price categories.

The Venue
Our performance spaces are situated on the lower ground floor. Hall One, Hall Two and St Pancras are located in level -2, reached by stairs, escalator and lift from the ground floor entrance level.
Event Times
Door times indicate auditorium entrance times only. Visitors are welcome to enjoy the Kings Place seating areas, gallery-level art, canal-side terrace, café, restaurant and bar throughout the day and evening.

Rotunda, situated on the ground floor of Kings Place, offers a unique dining and drinking experience alongside Regent’s Canal. The concert bar in the venue foyer will also be open for select events.
Green & Fortune Café
Recently re-furbished and now open with a new look, the Green & Fortune Café is open for selected concerts. Serving hot and cold food and drinks, including sandwiches, salads, soup, stew and a pie of the day, alongside a choice of cakes made by the on-site bakery team.
