New memoir Good Pop, Bad Pop finds Jarvis Cocker clearing out his loft and exploring the jumble of objects that catalogue his story. From a Gold Star polycotton shirt to a pack of Wrigley’s Extra, from photos, tickets and souvenirs to a small beige notebook containing his teenage masterplan, he writes about the early experiences that led to the creation of one of the UK’s best-loved bands, and the enduring inspiration of the everyday.
Join him as he reflects on writing and musicianship, 20th century pop culture and his creative education via the dole, nightclubs and listening to John Peel under the covers. He’ll be in conversation with Michael Bracewell, novelist and author of The Nineties: When Surface was Depth and Souvenir.
