Freedland, Jacobson and Schama take on Donald Trump, at least figuratively, as they compete for bandwidth to expose the latest exploits of the Western World’s most powerful and contentious leader. The inspiration for a satire by Jacobson, a thriller by Freedland and steaming articles by Schama et al, Trump is the object of obsessive interest to everyone.

Jonathan Freedland is an award-winning journalist, author and broadcaster, and a weekly columnist and writer for the Guardian. He is also the presenter of BBC Radio 4′s The Long View. He writes a monthly piece for the JC and is a regular contributor to a range of US publications, including the NYT, New York Review of Books and New Republic. He is the author of nine books, two of them non-fiction, and since 2006 has published seven best-selling novels under the pseudonym Sam Bourne. His latest is To Kill the President.

Howard Jacobson is an award-winning writer, journalist, and broadcaster. His novels include The Mighty Walzer, Kalooki Nights (longlisted for the Man Booker Prize), The Act of Love, Zoo Time and Shylock is My Name. In 2010 he won the Man Booker Prize for The Finkler Question.

Simon Schama is Professor of History and Art History at Columbia University, and the prize-winning author of 17 books, including The Embarrassment of Riches, Citizens, Landscape and Memory and The Story of the Jews. He is a contributing editor at the FT and his award-winning television work as writer and presenter for the BBC includes the 15-part A History of Britain and the Emmy-winning Power of Art.
