Brownsville, Brooklyn, June 28th, 1926: on a tenement table is born a baby who will transform comedy. As his centenary nears, we celebrate Mel Brooks and his dazzling seven decades on stage and screen, from The 2000 Year Old Man and Young Frankenstein to The Producers and History of the World, Parts I & II. When Jewish Book Week began in 1952 he was already a WWII veteran and writer on Your Show of Shows. Now, to close our 75th anniversary, festival favourite Maureen Lipman and special guests Andy Nyman and Marc Antolin from the current London cast of The Producers, alongside Allan Corduner and Rob Rinder, salute the Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony winner.
This event will last approximately 90 minutes, with no interval.
