Robert Popper: The Elsie Drake Letters

Jewish Book Week 2025

Speaker Robert Popper

Meet Robert Popper’s eccentric alter ego, Elsie Drake, as she pens hilariously bizarre letters to everyone from Arsenal Football Club to the Prime Minister.

“Robert Popper is not only certifiably one of the Funniest People in the World™, but also the loveliest 104-year-old woman you could ever hope to meet.” ‘Weird Al’ Yankovic

With Friday Night Dinner, Robert Popper created one of the most beloved sitcoms of the century, cementing his place as a comedy genius. His impressive portfolio includes producing Peep Show, script-editing The Inbetweeners, starring in Look Around You, writing for South Park, and topping bestseller lists with The Timewaster Letters. Now, Popper brings his signature humour to Jewish Book Week, sharing his brilliantly funny new book.

This event will last approximately 1 hour, without an interval.
