Suchandrika Chakrabarti speaks to River Scott, creator of the multi-award-winning Probably True podcast about being ‘funny’, telling stories, and how to sustain a solo indie podcast for over 7 years.

River Scott is the creator of the long-running and multi-award-winning LGBTQ storytelling podcast Probably True – Stories of queer life and even queer-er sex. They will be sharing insights, advice, and craft tips as a ‘veteran’ comedy podcaster whose career mostly involves staring at various blank Google Docs and telling jokes in a cupboard. They are also a radio host, a stand-up comedian, and several other jobs that can all be described as ‘trying to make money with their mouth’.

Suchandrika Chakrabarti is a comedian and podcaster who can currently be heard on news podcasts Paper Cuts (Podmasters) and The Week Unwrapped (Future Plc). She co-hosted the comedy discussion podcast But It Is Funny? with The Guardian‘s comedy critic Brian Logan and journalist Jamal Khadar for Counterpoints Arts in 2021-2, as she was taking her first comedy show to Edinburgh Fringe.
