Flamenco guitar, perhaps more than any other type of guitar playing has been very male dominated, but things are changing with a crop of outstanding female players emerging. Most impressive of these is Antonia Jimenez, a fantastic guitarist and composer from Cádiz. After studying with some of the greats of the Flamenco guitar such as Gerardo Nuñez and Manolo Sanlúcar, she embarked on her very own path playing in many leading Flamenco productions, playing solo, and accompanying some of the world’s greatest singers and dancers while touring world wide.
