Finnish folk supergroup Frigg have been wowing audiences around the world for fifteen years and have recorded eight albums. The tight interplay of four violins, two of them from the legendary Järvela family of Kaustinen, is thrilling to behold. Although Frigg have toured extensively in the UK, this is their first concert at a major London venue. ‘Friggin’ marvellous’ was the Songlines review of their 2017 album Frost on Fiddles. Their name comes from the wife of Odin in Norse mythology, from whom we get the word Friday. So who better to headline this Finnish Friday concert.
Before the concert, join Frigg’s Finnish Fiddle Tunes Workshop at 5pm in St Pancras Room.
‘One of the most vibrant and exciting instrumental bands anywhere on the planet’ BBC Radio Scotland’s Travelling Folk
