Aurora Orchestra: Beethoven 7 Outdoors

Aurora Orchestra returns to live performance with a special outdoor concert in the heart of Kings Cross.

Beethoven Symphony No. 7 in A major (from memory)
Aurora Orchestra
Nicholas Collon conductor

Due to popular demand, an additional show has been added at 8.15pm. Tickets are available here.

Our Resident Orchestra brings Beethoven’s exhilarating Symphony No. 7 into the open air at King’s Cross and – for the first time since March – you can join them in person. This will be one of the first opportunities to hear a live, ticketed symphonic orchestral performance anywhere in the UK since lockdown began.

Ahead of their appearance at this year’s BBC Proms, Nicholas Collon and the Aurora players present Beethoven’s joyful, intensely rhythmic symphony entirely from memory under the West Handyside Canopy in King’s Cross – without chairs, sheet music or music stands. Experience the unique thrill of memorised performance and celebrate a very special moment with Aurora as the orchestra returns to live music for a live seated audience.

‘Marvellous… Playing from memory, Aurora created an organic sense of community, dynamism and inspiration.’ The New York Times

Please note that audience members will be seated in socially-distanced groups and availability will be limited to enable social distancing and ensure everyone’s safety. Each ticket group will be treated as a ‘household’ and seated together.

Bookers should be aware that this performance takes place in a covered, cordoned-off area within an outdoor public space. While the performance will be carefully stewarded and every reasonable precaution taken to reduce the risk of external noise, it will be impossible for us to recreate concert hall conditions and we cannot eliminate the possibility of occasional extraneous sounds during the performance (e.g from members of the public walking nearby). We are grateful for your understanding and hope that you will join us for what promises to be a very special return to live orchestral performance.
