Forthcoming shows featuring the same performers:
Nico Muhly’s concerto for six-string electric violin Seeing is Believing, inspired by the ancient practice of mapping the stars and commissioned and performed by Aurora Orchestra. The work is paired with Byrd’s exquisite choral motet Miserere mei, Deus, speaking to the composer’s love of English Tudor music, and John Adams’ iconic Chamber Symphony, a virtuosic rollercoaster which pays homage to the dazzling, acrobatic music of 1950s cartoons.
Performed live at Kings Place in May 2011.
