Aurora Orchestra celebrates the first female professor of piano at the Paris Conservatoire, Louise Farrenc, who received wide acclaim in her lifetime, counting both Schumann and Berlioz among her admirers. Yet her impressive symphonies lay forgotten for too long – this presentation of her turbulent and invigorating third in G minor, under the baton of rising star Duncan Ward, was performed at Kings Place’s Venus Unwrapped season in December 2019.
