Returning by popular request, after their memorable concert from last year, the Chamber Ensemble of London play a wide selection of British string orchestra favourites. As well as baroque music by Handel and Purcell, we hear more recent works including music by John Ireland, and Malcom Arnold’s Concerto for two violins and strings, commissioned by Yehudi Menuhin and composed in the 1960s, when he was at the height of his powers.
This concert is generously supported by the Malcolm Arnold Trust and the John Ireland Trust.
The performance will last approximately 2 hours, including an interval.
