In between, comes music from Armenia: a selection of Songs and Dances by Soghomon Soghomonian, known as Komitas, the Ottoman-Armenian priest, composer and musicologist, in arrangements for quartet made by Soviet Armenian composer Sergei Aslamazian. This is paired with the fugal quartet by another famous Soviet Armenian, Aram Khachaturian.
