Chilingirian Quartet with Andrew Marriner

London Chamber Music Society

Mozart String Quartet in E flat, K. 428
Khachaturian Double Fugue for string quartet
Komitas/Aslamazian Armenian Songs and Dances
Brahms Clarinet Quintet in B minor, Op. 115

The Chilingirian Quartet perform two classical masterworks: Mozart’s beautiful E-flat quartet, and with Andrew Marriner, the ever-popular Clarinet Quintet by Johannes Brahms.

In between, comes music from Armenia: a selection of Songs and Dances by Soghomon Soghomonian, known as Komitas, the Ottoman-Armenian priest, composer and musicologist, in arrangements for quartet made by Soviet Armenian composer Sergei Aslamazian. This is paired with the fugal quartet by another famous Soviet Armenian, Aram Khachaturian.

This event will last approximately 2 hours, including an interval.
