Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment |
Christophe Coin is period instrument royalty. Known for the luminous elegance of his playing, this cellist and viola da gamba superstar trained with the best, is celebrated as the cellist of the Quatuor Mosaïques and play-directs the finest baroque ensembles in Europe.
Here he joins the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment for the effervescent G major Concerto of his cellist forebear, Boccherini, and CPE Bach’s powerfully-driven A minor Concerto. Two early ‘galant’ symphonies make up the evening, Sammartini’s graceful opener and a fiery Symphony in A from CPE Bach.
