This competition which was only created last year, is one of the most prestigious and fiercest contested guitar competitions in the world. Tonight’s concert presents the Final of this ‘super’ competition which is open exclusively to the winners of the competitions of the participating 17 European Guitar Festivals of EuroStrings.

EuroStrings is a collaborative of 17 European guitar festivals co-funded by the Creative Europe Programme of the European Union.

The winner will receive 8,000 Euros and a European tour as well as concerts in China and the US.

The First Round, consisting of three sessions, will take place in Hall Two:

Part I: Thursday 18 July, 9.30am – 12.30pm (7 competitors)
Part II: Thursday 18 July, 2pm – 5pm (5 competitors)
Part III: Friday 19 July, 10am – 12pm (5 competitors)

Semi-Final:

Saturday 20 July, 9.30am – 12.30pm (6 competitors)

Each competitor plays for 20 minutes during the First Round and the Semi-Final.
