Fitzwilliam Quartet and Noemi Gyori

London Chamber Music Society

Mozart Quartet for Flute and Strings
Schubert String Quartet in A minor, D. 804, Rosamunde
Hugo Wolf Italian Serenade
Amy Beach Quintet for Flute and Strings

Exploring chamber music that embodies voice and song, the Fitzwilliam Quartet performs two of the most lyrical romantic quartets – Schubert’s beautiful lieder-based ‘Rosamunde’ quartet and Hugo Wolf’s sunny ‘Italian Serenade’.

Taking the idea further via the flute, Hungarian virtuoso Noemi Gyori joins the quartet to play Mozart’s D major Flute Quartet, and then the Theme and Variations for flute and strings by American composer Amy Beach, one of her most important chamber works, composed in 1916 and based on her song ‘Indian Lullaby’.

The event will last approximately 2 hours, including an interval.
