Kings Place Artist in Focus cellist Laura van der Heijden presents a captivating programme featuring Beethoven, Debussy, Boulanger, Britten and Walker with pianist Jâms Coleman.

Three songs portraying the moon’s allure formed the starting point for this programme: Lili Boulanger’s Reflets, Howard Swanson’s Night Song, and Benjamin Britten’s Seven Sonnets of Michelangelo: Sonetto XXX. The sonatas of Debussy, Britten and George Walker speak to the same ideas that the songs explore, encouraging the listener to dream up their own night imagery.
