The strings of the Northern Chords Festival Orchestra present a concert of music from Britain.
They begin with Purcell’s ‘Chacony’, in Britten’s famous arrangement, Elgar’s beautiful Serenade, and the Andante from Coleridge-Taylor’s Novelletten. Following two pieces by Walton from his score for the film, Henry V, the programme ends with Finzi’s five-part Shakespearian song cycle, Let us garland bring, featuring celebrated baritone Jonathan McGovern.
