The Award-winning ORA Singers make their Kings Place debut with a programme celebrating the union between Scotland and England in 1603.

The concert begins with Thomas Weelkes’s Grant the King a Long Life, which is believed to have been performed at King James’ coronation. Thea Musgrave’s monumental Rorate Caeli forms a centre piece twinned with Byrd’s own anthem and Psalms from the Wode Psalter, harmonised by 16th century Scottish composer David Peebles. The concert also features two world premieres by the young Scottish composers Ninfea Cruttwell-Reade and Electra Perivolaris.

Scottish broadcaster, comedian, and writer, Ayesha Hazarika has been confirmed as reader.

This concert is supported by Cockayne Grants for the Arts, a donor advised fund at the London Community Foundation.

This event will last approximately 2 hours, including an interval.
