Tchaikovsky | Piano Trio in A minor, Op. 50 |
The last of Édouard Lalo’s three trios also shows his great admiration for the music of Robert Schumann. Tchaikovsky’s trio was written in Rome and subtitled ‘À la mémoire d’un grand artiste’, in reference to Nikolai Rubinstein, his friend and mentor who had died in 1881.
