Cellist Thomas Carroll and pianist Anthony Hewitt present two of the most popular Russian cello sonatas in this late-morning LCMS concert.
Technically both 20th-century works, Prokofiev’s sonata (1949), encapsulates the heartfelt and direct style of his last years. The passionate and lyrical romanticism of Rachmaninov’s Sonata, completed in 1901, ensures its place as an audience favourite.
