Kings Place welcomes Ukrainian pianist Vadym Kholodenko for his recital debut in the London Piano Festival, with a programme centred around three of the best-loved of all pianist composers, Beethoven, Liszt & Haydn.

Vadym Kholodenko is one of the most inspirational artists performing today. He is renowned for his individual interpretations, acute musical mind and extraordinary virtuosity. Winner of the 2013 Van Cliburn Competition, Vadym has since established a worldwide reputation as a uniquely gifted musician. For this Kings Place debut recital he has chosen a wide-ranging programme centred around three of the best-loved of all pianist composers; Beethoven, Liszt & Haydn. Two fascinating works lie at the heart of the recital, Thomas Adès magical soundscape ‘Traced Overhead’ proceeded by the powerful voice of fellow Ukrainian, the composer Valentyn Silvestrov. The evening promises a real journey of musical exploration from a master pianist.

‘In a demanding Russian programme, Kholodenko was captivating with the sheer concentration of his playing [and] the richness and depth of his sound…without doubt an exceptional artist’ Le Figaro

‘Vadym Kholodenko…plays with intelligent virtuosity and youthful fire’ The Guardian
