The Icelandic pianist and composer Eydís Evensen presents her new album Oceanic Mirror out on October 2025 for XXIM/Sony. Presented with Bird On The Wire.
29-year-old Eydís Evenson – who also sings on the album, for the first time – confronted her own hardships and sorrows in order to create The Light. Some were born from the crises we all endured together: the Covid-19 pandemic; her horror at Russia’s war on Ukraine; her dread that the glaciers and natural wonders of her native Iceland that inspired her to write music in the first place will soon be devastated by the impact of climate change.
There were also personal ordeals – ghosts from her past to be exorcised, demons in her closet that pushed her to challenging brinks. As the toll of these situations weighed on her, Evensen did what she always did: she sat at her piano, stretched her fingers and began to play.
“It’s always been like that,” smiles the artist. “I remember [as a child] walking to the piano and being able to let something out by playing the keys. It became a therapist and a best friend to me – I always felt better after I played.”
Now, Evensen continues this journey with her upcoming album Oceanic Mirror, set for release on October 10th on XXIM Records. The album captures the ocean in all its power and contradictions, speaking to elemental truths about loss, reincarnation, and the cycles of life. On August 29th, she releases Challenger Deep, a single that finds hope even in the darkest depths – a quiet reminder that light can still be imagined in the deepest dark.

£10 ‘Under 30s’ tickets
A limited number of £10 tickets for attendees aged under 30 are available for certain shows. To purchase an ‘Under 30s’ ticket, please choose the ‘Under 30s’ price type when selecting your ticket(s). If the option does not appear, this means all ‘Under 30s’ tickets have sold out or are not available for this performance. Please note that proof of age may be requested at the venue. The £10 offer does not apply to premium price categories.

The Venue
Our performance spaces are situated on the lower ground floor. Hall One, Hall Two and St Pancras are located in level -2, reached by stairs, escalator and lift from the ground floor entrance level.
Event Times
Door times indicate auditorium entrance times only. Visitors are welcome to enjoy the Kings Place seating areas, gallery-level art, canal-side terrace, café, restaurant and bar throughout the day and evening.
- Our events begin promptly at the advertised start time. Typically, there is no support unless otherwise stated.
- We recommend arriving in good time before the performance. The Hall doors will open 30 minutes before the performance to allow time to take your seats, or to choose a space for standing shows.
- Latecomers will be admitted at a suitable break in the performance where possible

Rotunda Bar & Restaurant
Rotunda, situated on the ground floor of Kings Place, offers a unique dining and drinking experience alongside Regent’s Canal. The concert bar in the venue foyer will also be open for select events.
Green & Fortune Café
Recently re-furbished and now open with a new look, the Green & Fortune Café is open for selected concerts. Serving hot and cold food and drinks, including sandwiches, salads, soup, stew and a pie of the day, alongside a choice of cakes made by the on-site bakery team. Eydís Evenson
Eydís Evensen is one of Iceland’s most remarkable musical exports — a composer and pianist whose deeply emotive soundscapes have quietly captivated audiences around the world. Classically trained, but led by instinct and emotion, Evensen creates music that transcends genre: flowing between modern classical, ambient minimalism, cinematic composition, and quiet introspection. Her work is as rooted in feeling as it is in technique — music that doesn’t just speak, but listens.
Raised in the windswept northern town of Blönduós, where the raw Icelandic landscape shapes every aspect of life, Evensen began composing at the age of seven, inspired by a snowstorm battering the windows of her childhood home. That first composition set the tone for everything to come: beauty wrapped in fragility, movement born from stillness, and a deep emotional connection to the natural world.
