Forest Swords

Kings Place is proud to present an intimate show from electronic producer and composer Matthew Barnes aka Forest Swords – performing using our d&b Soundscape system.

Forest Swords is electronic producer, composer and visual artist Matthew Barnes, based in Liverpool, UK. Barnes is known for rewiring sounds into innovative and unique new worlds, most recently on acclaimed album Bolted (Ninja Tune), remixes for the likes of Bjork, and collaborations with Massive Attack and Neneh Cherry.

His immersive albums and live shows (seen at festivals across the world such as Sonar, Unsound and Glastonbury) explore the powerful in between spaces between ancient and future sounds, melancholy and euphoria, light and dark.

Barnes’ work as a composer includes music for the Oslo National Ballet, pieces at Shanghai Biennale and Melbourne Triennial, and a production of the Greek tragedy Fedra, currently touring across Italy’s oldest outdoor theatres.

A revolution in the live sound experience, d&b Soundscape is an alternative to the traditional left and right stereo system, using up to 28 loudspeakers to open up a plethora of creative possibilities for artists to reinforce their sound.  Click here to read an article on our Magazine explaining more about the technology and click here to browse all shows utilising d&b Soundscape.
