John Metcalfe’s sumptuous new album celebrates our relationship with trees in this special Soundscape diffused performance for Sound Unwrapped. Shimmering, pulsating layered tracks explore what it is to be is among them, sitting, walking, running, climbing, whilst simultaneously describing their structure, energy, beauty, and power to excite and move us. Based around different periods of the day and night the pieces reflect the ever-shifting interplay of light, colour and sound. The album addresses the intense and mystifying effect trees have on us and our sense of a relationship with their physicality, their essence, and their importance to the future of our planet.
