We invite you to step over the Kings Place threshold to experience a bespoke performance with violinists Rakhi and Simmy Singh.

Have you missed the tingle of a live performance? Experience bespoke one-to-one performances by leading musicians in a safe environment. Individuals or groups of up to six people can share their personal lockdown story or mood with one of the guest artists who will prescribe a piece of music or a literary response.

Rakhi Singh is a violinist/curator/producer and composer. She is Music Director and co-founder of Manchester Collective with which she curates and directs over 70 concerts annually, nationally and internationally.

Described in the Guardian’s Classical picks as ‘the golden tone of violinist Rakhi Singh’ and ★★★★ Expert soloist/director Rakhi Singh, she regularly plays live on BBC Radio 3 and has been a guest curator on programmes with Elizabeth Alker and for NTS Radio Manchester.

An advocate for contemporary music, she has had a number of pieces written for her and will be premiering a selection of these in her her first solo show for violin and electronics in spring 2021.

Simmy Singh is a versatile violinist whose ambition is to push the boundaries of classical music and its audiences and to explore creativity and different genres with the violin.

In the classical world, Simmy co-founded the innovative Manchester Collective. A young classical organisation redefining the experience of the classical concert with eclectic programming of world class classical and experimental works presented in both concert halls and club venues around the UK.

Highlights include their 2019 Sirocco tour with cellist, Abel Selaccoe – with performances in Switzerland, Kings Place, CLF Arts Cafe and a sold out performance at the Dora Stoutzker Hall in Cardiff.

Tickets are free but donations welcome to help support our programme and artists.
