Soheil Nafisi (born 1967, Tehran) is a distinguished Iranian singer, composer, and guitarist, celebrated for his unique fusion of music and poetry. A self-taught musician, Nafisi spent over two decades in Hormozgan, a culturally rich region in southern Iran, where the local cultural richness deeply shaped his sound.
Nafisi has a deep passion for Iranian poetry, spanning from classical to contemporary works, including the timeless verses of Hafiz and the modernist writings of Ahmad Shamloo and Nima Yooshij. This love for poetry has shaped his minimalist, storytelling style—centered on one instrument and one voice. His albums Rira, Songs of the South, Chang and Sorood, and The New Design have inspired a generation of young Iranian musicians, reflecting his profound connection to both poetry and the musical traditions of southern Iran.
