We invite you and your family to step over the Kings Place threshold to experience a bespoke performance for children with poet Kate Wakeling.

Have you missed the tingle of a live performance? Experience bespoke one-to-one performances by leading musicians and poets in a safe environment. Individuals or groups of up to six people can share their personal lockdown story or mood with one of the guest performers who will prescribe a piece of music or a literary response.

Come and Pick-Your-Own-Poems in this fun, gentle poetry reading for families. Choose what you’d like to hear from a menu of poems that explore everything from stick insects to spies, goblins to guinea pigs, with side orders of scabs, comets and consoling trees. There are lots of chances to join in if you like that sort of thing (but zero pressure if you don’t). And the reading can also end with a playful prompt to get you started on a brand new poem of your own…

Ideal for children aged 4-8, with younger and older siblings welcome.
