Myths, Folk Tales and Ballads told by Hugh Lupton

Beltane and Samhain

The ancient Celtic festivals celebrating the start of summer and winter are still remembered in Mayday and Halloween ritual, story and song. For the Celts, they were times when this world met the ‘other’, when borders between the everyday and the spirit world became porous. In this programme of myths, folk-tales and ballads, acclaimed English storyteller Hugh Lupton will explore these mysterious stations in the circle of the year.
