Siobhan Miller Band + Niamh Corkey

Scotland Unwrapped

A richly celebrated Scottish folk singer and songwriter, Siobhan Miller’s soulful and stirring renewal of traditional song has won numerous accolades, including the BBC Alba Scots Trad Music Awards’ Scots Singer of the Year an unprecedented four times. She returns to Kings Place with her first-ever full band tour.

Immersed in Scotland’s rich folk scene, Siobhan Miller has been a standout performer at Glasgow’s Celtic Connections festival, sharing the stage with legendary artists in Transatlantic Sessions. She has also taken the musical director baton on large, flagship projects at the festival. Her remarkable solo career boasts four BBC Alba Scots Trad Music Awards and a prestigious BBC Radio 2 Folk Award for the best traditional track. All five of her albums have been shortlisted for BBC Alba’s STMA album of the year.

Bringing the live energy and out-and-out joy of her festival arena sets to venues throughout the country, Siobhan will be joined by her dynamic and energetic five-piece band for a set spanning her impressive discography of five critically acclaimed albums.

Accompanied by a stellar five-piece ensemble, Siobhan is joined by some of Scotland’s most sought-after musicians, including guitarist Innes White, award-winning fiddler Charlie Stewart, drummer Louis Abbott (Admiral Fallow, Kris Drever), pianist Tom Gibbs, and bassist Euan Burton.

Bloom, Siobhan’s 2022 masterpiece, enchants with timeless melodies and standout tracks like I’m a Rover and Queen of Argyll, blending traditional charm with modern influences. Her beloved version of The Ramblin’ Rover, from 2017’s Strata, has amassed over 10 million streams worldwide and become a fan favourite and a mainstay of her captivating live performances.

This is a rare opportunity to see the Siobhan Miller Band in full flight at venues across the country – don’t miss it.

This event will last approximately 2 hours, including an interval.

Niamh Corkey

Niamh Corkey is a 23 year old singer/songwriter from Fife in Scotland, now based in Glasgow. She learned to sing and play guitar at folk sessions around Ireland, growing up in a family full of musicians. This is reflected in her own songwriting, which is primarily folk-inspired but now woven with elements of jazz, classical music, and 60’s rock ‘n’ roll. Niamh also sings with Glasgow bluegrass supergroup The Black Denims, and has performed at festivals all around the UK. She is looking forward to releasing her debut solo record in January.
