Kings Place Jazz Orchestra Young Artist Platform

SULA

Miranda Radford drums
Aleks Dimitrova double bass
Kezia Abuoma piano

Kings Place Jazz Orchestra are proud to present our second KPJO Young Artist Platform performance, featuring rising stars of the UK Jazz scene. SULA is a London-based trio featuring Miranda Radford (drums), Aleks Dimitrova (bass) and Kezia Abuoma (piano), all of whom are currently studying jazz at Trinity Laban and being mentored by Tomorrow’s Warriors.

Come and hear SULA, rising stars of the jazz scene, as Kings Place Jazz Orchestra (KPJO) presents the best young jazz talent around. The trio will perform in the Music Foyer, ahead of the second performance from the Kings Place Jazz Orchestra, in Hall One.

SULA is a new trio project made up of drummer Miranda Radford, bassist Aleks Dimitrova and pianist Kezia Abuoma. All currently studying jazz at Trinity Laban, these exciting young musicians have come up through hailed organisations like Tomorrow’s Warriors, mentored by the likes of Nikki Yeoh and Deschanel Gordon and Will Cleasby.

As both bandleaders and sidewomen, they have performed at venues such as The Vortex, The Jazz Cafe and Dizzy’s Club in New York. Taking inspiration from the likes of Kris Davis, Wayne Shorter and Jeff ‘Tain’ Watts, these three unique voices have come together to play both their original compositions and other music that is inspired by the energetic sounds of modern-day jazz.

This is a free event taking place in the Music Base foyer. No booking required.

The performance will last approximately 50 minutes, with no interval.
