London Piano Festival Fundraising Gala

The London Piano Festival celebrates its fifth edition with a unique Fundraising Gala in aid of the 2021 festival. The evening will include two concerts in Hall One combined with a special guest reception.
Throughout the previous four years the London Piano Festival has brought together a wide range of exceptional pianists to showcase this most versatile and popular of instruments. Circumstances sadly prevent such collaborations from taking place in 2020 but the spirit of the festival promises to remain ever present.

The opening concert will present the LPF Co-Artistic Directors Charles Owen & Katya Apekisheva in lyrical solo works by two of the most iconic 19th Century piano composers; Chopin & Liszt.

Stravinsky’s ground breaking, seminal ballet score The Rite of Spring will be performed in the composer’s own transcription for two pianos. This version reveals extra dimensions to the familiar masterpiece making it a thrilling, visceral concert experience.

Following an exclusive reception upstairs in Kings Place’s canal-side Battlebridge Room, the second concert will feature the acclaimed jazz pianist, keyboardist and composer Bill Laurance performing his own music which evokes a striking sense of time and place. As an original member of three-time Grammy Award-winning, globetrotting, genre-defying group Snarky Puppy, Laurance has toured countless times, playing to tens of thousands of fans worldwide. He is also a champion of cutting-edge keyboard developments and an inveterate inspirer and educator.

This is a socially distanced event with a capacity of 100 people.
