(Re)Sounding India
As part of Origins Unwrapped 2027 at Kings Place, (Re)Sounding India is a four-part concert series curated by multi-award-winning pianist Keval Shah.
The series explores how artists of the South Asian diaspora draw on, rework and transform elements of Indian musical culture into distinctive contemporary practices. It considers how heritage is shaped across continents, and how distance and context influence the way traditions are inherited and reimagined by musicians of the diaspora.
Across four events, internationally-renowned artists offer distinct perspectives on Indian music’s creative possibilities within a global contemporary landscape, each bringing their own musical language and lineage to bear on what “Indian music” can mean today.
Alongside the performances, a series of artist conversations hosted by Keval Shah will offer further insight into the ideas and influences shaping the programme.
