Have you ever wanted to know more about the classical canon but had no idea where to begin? Are you an aficionado who would like to widen your acquaintance with sublime music? Clemency Burton-Hill selects one piece of music for each day of the year in an interactive guide that allows you to listen as you learn, discussing her musical choices with internationally acclaimed singer, conductor and cellist Simon Wallfisch.

Clemency Burton-Hill is one of the UK’s leading arts broadcasters and writers, presenting BBC Radio 3 Breakfast, and co-presenting BBC Proms and Young Musician of the Year, as well as numerous other music and arts programmes on radio, television and online. She is a regular contributor to leading newspapers and journals. An award-winning violinist who has performed all over the world, she is co-founder of Aurora Orchestra and a patron of the music and arts education charities The Choir of London Trust and Dramatic Need.

Simon Wallfisch is a baritone and cellist. He has sung leading roles at Nuremberg, Zurich and Leipzig opera houses and is in great demand as recitalist, performing concerts in Europe’s leading concert halls including the Wigmore Hall, Royal Festival Hall, Laeiszhalle Hamburg and Konzerthaus Berlin. He has a fast growing list of CD recordings with Nimbus and Lyrita records with three new releases due in 2018. He started his musical career playing the cello with the English Chamber Orchestra and combines both disciplines simultaneously in his performances. Simon Wallfisch is also active as a voice over actor and presenter. He is a trustee of the International Centre for Suppressed Music, dedicated to resurrecting the musical archives of mainly Jewish composers suppressed by the Nazis.
