Despite their bullying father, King Frederick William I, three of his children showed outstanding musical gifts: Wilhelmine, Anna Amalia and Frederick the Great. This programme includes unjustly neglected pieces by all three talented siblings alongside works by Bach-disciple Johann Philipp Kirnberger (Anna Amalia’s inspirational tutor) and masterpieces by Bach himself, including the great three-part Ricercare based on a theme by Frederick the Great.
Please note there will be no interval.
