Barcarolle Choir was formed in September 2012 by the Music Director Katrine Reimers and Hélène Coste, to offer an opportunity for women in West London to sing at lunchtime and share the joy of singing among themselves and with their audience.
Barcarolle Choir takes its name from the Barcarolle musical genre, which evokes the gentle movement of the gondolas in Venice. The Barcarolle is also a well-known duet from Les Contes d’Hoffman by Offenbach.
In March 2014, Sam Evans became the new Music Director of the choir, expanding the choir composition and singing repertoire, helping singers to improve their voices and focus on their vocal talents.
Barcarolle Choir is composed of two groups with different repertoires: The Belters (pop/jazz) and the Divas (Classical/contemporary).
The performance will last approximately 35 minutes.
