Andrew Marriner | clarinet |
The Chilingirian Quartet is joined by clarinettist Andrew Marriner in a performance of Mozart’s ever-popular Clarinet Quintet. This is paired with the third of Haydn’s Op.64 string quartets, known as the ‘Tost quartets’, after the Hungarian violinist Johann Tost who helped Haydn find a publisher for the works. Their concert finishes with Claude Debussy’s ravishingly beautiful string quartet, which carries all the colourful and distinctive hallmarks of his style from 1890’s ‘fin de siècle’ Paris.
