The Lock-In – The Masque of the Red Death

Aurora Orchestra

Jessie Maryon-Davies presenter
Sally Pryce harp
Principal Players of Aurora Orchestra

You are invited to a masquerade ball.
There are 7 rooms in this ball.
Each a different colour.
Outside these walls rages a terrible plague – the Red Death.
Follow instructions. Be careful who you speak to.
And beware the chimes of midnight.

Join Aurora musicians in an evening of mystery, drama and games as we explore Edgar Allan Poe’s gothic masterpiece The Masque of the Red Death as depicted in Caplet’s Conte Fantastique for harp and strings.

Part of The Lock-In series at Kings Place:

Grab a glass and settle in for an experimental late night series that allows audiences to get up close with and even become part of live performances in unique and playful ways! Curated by Aurora’s principal players, The Lock-In features an eclectic mix of our principal player’s favourite music and guest artists. Step inside and be prepared to let go.

These informal events take place in Hall Two, with bar service available in the Hall throughout. The Hall Two doors and bar will open immediately after the end of each main Hall One performance, with live music starting approximately 20–30 minutes after the Hall One concert concludes. Events last c. 60 minutes.

Please note that this is a standing event. Seating is limited and cannot be reserved in advance.
