Two outstanding pianists take us on a fascinating journey of musical connections. A sonata for two pianos by Mozart begins, and then a musical theme by his great friend Haydn, via Brahms’s famous variations. Schumann’s Six Etudes, as arranged by Debussy, signals a move to France. Magical music by Messiaen, from his Visions de l’Amen, forms a colourful prelude to Debussy’s stunning En Blanc et Noir.
The performance will last approximately 2hrs, including an interval.
