Raised in Glasgow’s vibrant music scene and inspired by her grandfather, a renowned pianist, Georgia draws influence from legends like Nina Simone and Stevie Wonder, blending retro soul-jazz with modern R&B influences like D’Angelo, Cleo Sol and Lianne La Havas. Her music is rich in storytelling and possesses soulful, emotional depth.
Following her acclaimed debut album, Georgia supported Gregory Porter on tour, performed with the BBC Concert Orchestra on BBC 1, performed at the opening gala of London Jazz Festival on BBC4 and showcased at SXSW, Texas. With radio support from Jamie Cullum on BBC Radio 2, BBC 6 Music, BBC Radio 3, Jazz FM, BBC Scotland, and Soho Radio, she has also earned recognition from Wonderland and The Guardian naming her as one of six UK artists to watch. Her music has found further reach on popular playlists across Spotify (Jazz UK, Sweet Soul Sunday) Apple (Jazz Soul Cafe), and Amazon Music.
Her upcoming release, City Girl—out February 28, 2025, on Mahogany Music—marks a bold evolution in Georgia’s sound, blending her jazz roots with contemporary soul and R&B, enriched by lush strings, warm horns, and subtle electronic textures. Co-produced and co-written with friends Euan Stevenson and Ankit Suri, City Girl showcases international musicians and is awash with diversity, community, and optimism. A reflection of Georgia’s newfound love for big-city life, City Girl explores themes of love, wonder, and unity. Known for her powerful live performances, Georgia and her band are set to bring this vibrant, uplifting energy to audiences worldwide.
