The programme includes the lively Variations brillantes op.12 and the expansive Andante spianato et Grande Polonaise brillante, alongside the lyricism of Ballade No.3 and the dark intensity of the Nocturne in F sharp minor op.48 no.2.
The recital concludes with Chopin’s Sonata in B minor op.58, one of his most ambitious piano works, unfolding across four contrasting movements from the commanding Allegro maestoso to a driven final movement.
This event will last for approximately 1 hour with no interval.

£10 ‘Under 30s’ tickets
A limited number of £10 tickets are available for certain shows to attendees aged under 30. To access Under 30s tickets, your account needs to be updated with your Date of Birth. Please visit the account centre to add your Date of Birth and go to ‘Other Preferences’ to opt in to the Under 30s Scheme.
If £10 tickets are available, the ticket discount will apply automatically at checkout. If the discount does not apply, this means all ‘Under 30s’ tickets have sold out for the performance.
Please note that proof of age may be requested at the venue.

The Venue
Our performance spaces are situated on the lower ground floor. Hall One, Hall Two and St Pancras are located in level -2, reached by stairs, escalator and lift from the ground floor entrance level.

Door times indicate auditorium entrance times only. Visitors are welcome to enjoy the Kings Place seating areas, gallery-level art, canal-side terrace, café, restaurant and bar throughout the day and evening.

Rotunda, situated on the ground floor of Kings Place, offers a unique dining and drinking experience alongside Regent’s Canal. The concert bar in the venue foyer will also be open for select events.

Recently re-furbished and now open with a new look, the Green & Fortune Café is open for selected concerts. Serving hot and cold food and drinks, including sandwiches, salads, soup, stew and a pie of the day, alongside a choice of cakes made by the on-site bakery team. Gülsin Onay is internationally recognised as one of today’s leading pianists, celebrated for her expressive depth, technical brilliance and wide-ranging repertoire. A child prodigy, she gave her first public recital on Turkish Radio at the age of six before studying with Ahmed Adnan Saygun and Mithat Fenmen, and later at the Paris Conservatoire with Pierre Sancan, Monique Haas and Nadia Boulanger. She graduated at just sixteen, winning the prestigious Premier Prix du Piano.
Her distinguished international career has taken her to more than 80 countries across all continents, performing with many of the world’s leading orchestras, including the Dresden Staatskapelle, Vienna Symphony, Philharmonia Orchestra and Japan Philharmonic. She has collaborated with eminent conductors such as Vladimir Ashkenazy, Neeme Järvi and Esa-Pekka Salonen, and has appeared at major festivals worldwide, including Berlin, Warsaw, Mozartfest Würzburg and Schleswig-Holstein.
Renowned as a leading interpreter of Turkish composer Ahmed Adnan Saygun, whose Second Piano Concerto was dedicated to her, Onay has played a vital role in bringing his music to international audiences. Her extensive discography reflects the breadth of her repertoire, from Mozart and Beethoven to Rachmaninov and Bartók.
Alongside her performing career, she is a passionate advocate for music education and outreach. A UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador since 2003, she regularly supports charitable initiatives through performance and education. She is also Artist-in-Residence at Bilkent University and continues to mentor young musicians internationally, while maintaining an active presence in broadcasting and festival direction.
