Schools and families
Our work with schools centres on our partnership with Aurora Orchestra, collaborating on events for families and local primary schools under the rubric of ‘Far, Far Away’. In 2024 alone the programme reached 763 children and 685 parents and teachers. Further family-oriented events are programmed throughout the year: explore them here.
Community Club
Creating access to Kings Place for the most underserved parts of our community, our Community Club has seen us connect with local charities including Highgate Black Women’s Wellness Group, Central YMCA, WE RESTART, Clarion Housing, British Library, Artbox and Gingerbread. Find out more here.
Frozen Light Theatre
We work with acclaimed musical theatre group Frozen Light to create multi-sensory performances for audiences with profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD). We collaborated with Frozen Light to devise an audience experience that would be welcoming and inclusive for this audience, thinking together about front of house training, facilities, lighting and seating. We have now delivered two years of the programme, reaching around 300 people and their carers.
Skills and training
We offer an outstanding programme of training and professional development within our Technical department so that junior team members can upskill across sound, lighting, stage management and more. We also work closely with Islington Council and local charities and agencies to introduce young residents to performing arts career pathways.
Space for our community
We offer hundreds of hours of free or subsidised space hire every year to community and learning partners, including music education charities and non-professional choirs.
