Alan Bearman Music – Artistic Associate

Alan Bearman Music is a leading UK music agency, events and consultancy company representing some of the foremost artists on the folk, roots and acoustic music scene. Alan himself has over 40 years’ experience of programming events and festivals, including Sidmouth International Festival, Towersey Festival, Folk in the Fall at the Southbank Centre and the Ards International Guitar Festival. Formed in 2004, the ABM agency is also responsible for the artistic programming and marketing of Sidmouth FolkWeek.

Alan Bearman Music are now proud Artistic Associates of Kings Place, having enjoyed a long-standing collaborative partnership with the venue. ABM has curated themed concert series and festival style events at Kings Place since 2011, including Lau-Land, Commonplace with Karine Polwart and Chris Wood, Outlandish Nights with Alasdair Roberts and Emily Portman, Hidden Treasure and Purpose and Grace with Martin Simpson, Words and Music with Nancy Kerr and in March 2018 Time and Tradition with Martin and Eliza Carthy. These events often make links between folk music and other art-forms and have involved the likes of Helen Macdonald, George Monbiot, Simon Armitage and Hugh Lupton.

ABM has also promoted many concerts at Kings Place with a diverse range of artists including Peggy Seeger, Chris Smither, Roy Bailey and Tony Benn, Rachel Newton, Jon Boden, June Tabor, and Dick Gaughan.

We are looking forward to working even more closely with Kings Place in future, within the venue and in the wider community, proudly placing folk arts at the centre of the venue’s artistic policy.
