The famous Allegri Quartet present a neatly-formed hour-long programme, featuring Beethoven’s mid-period ‘Serioso’ Quartet in F minor and Debussy’s beautiful early quartet from the 1890s. Mendelssohn’s ‘Capriccio’ from his four pieces for quartet from the 1840s forms a perfect prelude.
