The Music Base is our open-plan shared office space, home to the Kings Place Music Foundation team and other like-minded arts, literature and music organisations. The creative and collaborative atmosphere of the Music Base fosters close relationships between organisations, many of whom have become Kings Place Partners, including Resident Orchestra Aurora Orchestra and Black Lives in Music. Alan Bearman Music is a music agency, formed in late 2004, representing some of the foremost artists on the folk, roots and acoustic music scene. Alan has over 30 years’ experience of programming festivals and events including Sidmouth Festival, Towersey Festival, Folk in the Fall at the South Bank Centre and Ards International Guitar Festival as well as showcases and conferences for Folk Arts England and The Association of Festival Organisers.
Aurora is many things. A virtuosic chamber orchestra, built of extraordinary musicians, giving electrifying performances at the very highest international standard. A pioneering creative community with a boundless appetite for adventure, the broadest of artistic horizons, and a playful approach to presentation. Above all, Aurora is about bringing the richest musical experiences to the broadest possible audience. We’re constantly searching for new ways to heighten engagement with music and help audiences get under the skin of great works. The International Guitar Foundation (IGF) is a charitable organisation dedicated to the guitar, its players, and its music. We focus primarily upon creating new music, advancing the opportunities available for new players and developing audiences for guitar music throughout the UK. We commission new repertoire from leading music creators and disseminate this new work to audiences. We create opportunities for young players by providing performance platforms, workshops, professional advice and the highest quality training available.
UK Jazz News (previously LondonJazz News) was started as a blog by Sebastian Scotney in 2009, and has gone on growing ever since. It now involves a substantial team of contributors and helpers. The weekly UKJazz newsletter, Wednesday Breakfast Headlines, has become an industry must-read since first launching in 2010. UKJazz News starts from a genuine enthusiasm for jazz and related music, for the energy, range and diversity of the scene all around us, and for the people who make it happen.
