We recognise that our organisation is enriched and strengthened by a diverse workforce and we welcome applications from everyone.

The Role

We are delighted to announce the recruitment of Lighting Technicians to join the Kings Place Technical Team.

Based on discussions with clients/artists, production notes and venue house styles, lighting states are designed and plotted during setup and rehearsal. During the show, lights are operated either as a cue stack or as ‘busked’ faders (or both), depending on the style and needs of the event.

You should therefore have a good working knowledge of lighting to ensure the highest quality of technical delivery throughout all performances, events and conferences.

This is a flexible, hourly rate role with key duties including:

  • Set up and operate in-house and hired lighting equipment during concerts & events
  • Return all areas to standard post-show
  • Maintain and conform to venue policies and procedures
  • Work independently, including during out-of-office hours
  • Ensure that all technical setups and installs follow the correct Health & Safety Codes of Practice, and correct PPE is used
  • Routinely report equipment faults or issues to the relevant technical manager
  • As a lighting technician, work with and assist other technical departments (Sound, Filming, Stage Management)

The Person

We are looking for candidates with strong communication skills and adaptability for single-day events. In a busy environment, you should have the ability to realise an artist’s vision as well as use your own initiative when required. Our ideal candidate will have experience working with musicians across genres, as well as strong customer service skills for our hire clients.

Kings Place is committed to training and development, supporting those with a proactive attitude to problem solving, a positive approach and a willingness to learn. Many of our staff work across disciplines (Stage Management, AV, Sound, Recording, Filming) and have been cross-skilled at Kings Place.
